Mission of Andrea Richmond
I was inspired to start Other Side Publishing because of my deeply personal journey as a mother of two children who battled leukemia. When my daughter was first diagnosed, my world shattered. Just 18 months later, I heard the same devastating words about my second child. In those moments, I realized that life was bigger than me, that I couldn’t control or fix everything—but I could choose how I faced it.
Through the darkest days, I found strength in storytelling, in the kindness of strangers, and in the unwavering presence of faith. I needed help every single day, and I quickly learned that no one should have to go through this alone. That’s why I created Other Side Publishing—to build a space where stories of resilience, love, and courage can be shared, where parents facing the unimaginable can find comfort in knowing that they are not alone.

I’m sharing understanding with you
I want families, especially mothers and their children to know that even in the hardest seasons, joy still finds a way in. Love does not disappear in suffering; it deepens. Hope is not naïve; it is necessary. And Faith does not mean we won’t struggle—it means we don’t have to struggle alone.
How does it help you?
I share my journey not because I have all the answers, but because I want to offer you what I so desperately needed in my darkest moments
I’m sharing my story with you
Because this is bigger than just my story—it’s about all of us. Whether you’re a parent, a caregiver, or someone facing your own difficult season, I believe in the power of shared experiences to bring hope.
Compassion
Sharing a Compassionate Voice & Perspective
Sharing a compassionate voice that understands your pain and daily struggles, a connection to other mothers who experienced what you are living, a private and safe place to find knowledgeable resources in the overwhelm, invaluable insight into ideas for respite and self-care to ease your “new” world full of unforeseen responsibilities, and a light in the distance saying:
You will make it through. Let me go along with you in this valley and together we will find the door of Hope that leads to His abundance and blessings.
For every mother walking the road of childhood cancer with her child, for every parent feeling overwhelmed in uncertainty, for every woman trying to make sense of the pain and purpose in her life—my story is for you. If I can survive, so can you. If love carried me through, it will carry you too.
More than anything, I hope my words remind you that no matter how broken life feels, LOVE remains. And LOVE is enough.
